"The Lord watches over you-- the Lord is your shade at your right hand."
King James says, "The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shade at your right hand".
but the message says it differently...
"God's your Guardian,
right at your side to protect you—
Shielding you from sunstroke,
sheltering you from moonstroke."
So I really wonder which it is trying to say- That the Lord is like an umbrella, maybe that you'd carry in your right hand, or that the Lord is your shadow, made by your right hand? If you use the upper room devotional you probably are like, "i know where she's going with this!" and you're right.... a few days ago the devotional was on this, and compared it to the Lord being like our shadow- Always there, sometimes hard to see, sometimes big and obvious, but ALWAYS there. I LOVED that analogy. It brought me so much comfort! Also- he's seeing everything you do. He's attached to everything you do.
I love it. I'm so glad it can't come unsewed, like in Peter Pan =D.
